Instructional Design Presentations

PowerPoint Presentation Support at Parker University

In my current position at Parker University a key focus is supporting faculty. While this support comes in many shapes and forms - coaching, technical problem-solving, training, etc., this also includes elevating faculty PowerPoint presentations for conferences by making design updates that more effectively communicate their content. Below is a select sample of slides I worked on with Sonography Program Director Ashley Ragsdale, MBA, ARDMS, RVT. Ms. Ragsdale presented this hour long keynote presentation at the International Foundation for Sonography Education and Research (ISFER) which discusses the research she is conducting for her dissertation on the role of technology in education. This sample is presented in a sped-up, video format for ease of viewing, but the presentation itself was a mixture of automated and manually triggered slides curated to suit Ms. Ragsdale’s presentation cadence. This presentation also contains audio components.

Instructional Design Presentation Series at BenchPrep

Through my employment at BenchPrep and the pursuit of outside study, I grew from a freelance Content Reviewer, to a Learning Content Manager, to and Instructional Designer and Learning Consultant. This growth not only fulfilled my desire to learn more but equipped me with real-world experiences that further enhanced my trainer toolset.

BenchPrep offers a SaaS LMS solution for companies wanting to create online educational courses. The lynchpin of this process are the content managers who work with clients to transfer their content into the propriety platform, including advising on best practices. However, many clients also have questions that are instructional design based, which is an area that content managers are not trained in and thus expressed a lack of confidence in speaking to.

After identifying this issue, I initiated a series of internal presentations to educate and support my team in how instructional design can be applied to specific facets of the platform and course build process.

The decks for first three presentations are in video format (no sound) to the right. The summary of these presentations, created using Camtasia, is above.
